Hello World!
Long time no see. Well, after four years of getting my butt kicked I finally graduated! Yaay.

Now I'm catching up on some well deserved relaxation and it feels great. I'm chillin' with my sister, catching up with friends, and petting my kitty cat who I missed too.

With all the free time on my hands (joy!) I'm trying to get everything nice and organized. Updating my website, making a portfolio blog (!), trying to decide what project I want to start on next (Storyboard project? or Visual Development? decisions....) So yeah.

I'm also trying to catch up on all the sun I missed out on :D haha!
Hiking and Rock Climbing are WELL on my to do list XD!!!

For some reason my animations don't have sound (grrr!!!) so I'll have to fix that somehow. Strange, cause the sound worked on my school computer. It lied, IT LIED!!! Enjoy it anyway though, I'll fix it soon enough (hopefully . .;;;)

No art this time. But there will be some soon enough, promise.

Thesis is ALMOST done! Deadline is Sunday. I personally think I'm dead.... I still have TONS to do. I still try to find ways to have fun here and there:

Both of these were made while waiting for nCloth playblasts to happen. I'm multitasking like it ain't nobodies business! I'm rerendering frames, while also animating, and drawing, and lighting and reviewing playblasts and calculating nCloth, AND getting together portfolio's for recruiters all at once. It sucks...

I can't wait for thesis to be over.

I'm happy the big crit came and went. But now the big deadline is coming up fast! I only have a week to animate and nuke everything! SO WHY AM I HEAR!!!! Taking a break....

This is Elda, the tailor's wife actually. No not in my thesis, in another one of my stories I made called, Sleepy Willow. It's about a Victorian town where strange things happen. I like town's where strange things happen in them. To bad my town isn't one of them! GRAH!

But yes, Elda's story is she's a nanny who hates kids with bad habits, especially thumb sucking. So she sends her husband out to get them. Hence, that's how that tale came to be about the Thumb Cutting Tailor. yup yup......

As for that pie..... it's blueberry, bleck!!! (in my opinion at least, I'm a personal fan of apple thank you very much :p )

Some Paintings

I never posted my DFA paintings! Criminal! Well here they are...

This is my first DFA painting from Junior year. It's like little red riding hood. Except the wolf doesn't want to eat the girl, she wants to eat her sheep doll.

And this here blue one is my second DFA painting from Junior year. It's the Sandman and his daughter, Sandy. Now we all know the sandman can put anyone to sleep. Except for his own daughter. Kids... haha!

Now this onw I didn't make Junior year. I actually made this one while lighting my thesis. Waiting for renderman to render one image takes so long. So while it would render the one still image, I would color and work on this. This one is redneck Hansel and Gretel, and instead of the witch being a witch, he's a cannibal hillbilly in the backwoods with a meat house. No the house itself isn't made of meat, but he's got a meat yard full a beef jerky and bacon and all kinds of things country folk like. Anywho.... yeah. ENJOY!

blah..... Relighting scenes can be such a pain..... well, here is another undeveloped story of mine, but I like the concept for it.
This is Anabelle and her cat Fred. Fred is trained to get himself lost. Anabelle puts up wanted posters for him all over town with an award for his return. Fred is also trained to follow Young Men around. When they see Fred and see the sign and see the reward they naturally want to bring Fred back to his owner. So why does Anabelle go through all this trouble? To find herself a man. haha... she's dreadfully shy, this is the only way she can talk to a guy. I'd love to make a story of this, but the concept is already so complicated. Maybe it's as simple as, what happens when Fred really goes missing? He is Anabelle's "baby" after all.

Some more pictures while waiting for thesis renders to come in. I'm so happy I figured out the background thing for blogger! Eeee! Looky how prettyful everything is now! I hated the default background, too formal for my taste... Anyhoo! PICTURES!

Chubby children are awesome to draw. This is actually a first sketch, I'll definitely make him a little rounder and more chubby as I evolve his character.

These two are the best of friends, and in this picture they are scared of something! Something big! Something...... scary... oooo! Thesis deadline! EEK!
Adele is so proud to sport her new dress around town. Her daddy made it for her. Practically the only successful outfit he's ever made in his life, he is a failed tailor whose all talk and no show (sound familiar?) It's part of my Grimm's story! A town that is enchanted and everyone in it assumes the roles of characters in the Grimm's books.

You know, I'm going through this phase in my drawing... I've found one or two designs I really like and I'm applying them to all my new characters. Adele is totally my thesis character with short hair and a different dress. DX graaah!

Okay, I've slacked enough, back to animating and rendering! Weee!

So usually I go onto deviantart to some submit drawings. But for some reason deviant has all these freakin' viruses implanted in there pages. Like not even suspicious pages like it used to, it's like all there pages now. So, I'm taking this time instead of submitting there, I shall submit here.

I don't have a problem D:, I just want people to see mah werk. :D

But in all seriousness, haha... just got into a conversation about our favorite games as children. Candy land was my most favorite, my sister even had the PC game where this scary gingerbread kid leads you around the kingdom. I think my favorite part of that PC game was robbing King Kandy of all his candy, HAHA!

I heard something tragic though! It's becoming a live action movie apparently??? NO!!!! I wanted to make Candyland a movie darn it! And a cartoon, no live action!

I did some sketches:

The characters. You totally can't tell Mr. Mint, Queen Frostine, and Lord Licorice are my favorite characters.

Hmmm..... now that I look back on these, it doesn't look like, CANDYLAND, a magical adventure where the twins find themselves in a magical land of candy and happiness!
It looks more like...
RETURN TO CANDYLAND, a movie where the twins go back and everythings gone to hell!

No I'm not dead. Hi!
Still getting used to posting here on Blogger, I'm more of a deviant art girl myself....
I'm just taking a break from thesising for a second. I haven't gotten a skeleton in my model yet, and my animatic/blendtest is due in two weeks! GAH!!!! Darn blendshapes took longer than expected!

Well, here are some doodles for you.
Oki-doki.... well, I was cleaning out my bursting lab top (cause it was going all slow and stoopid like with all this used memory) when I came across my OLD concept folder! BLISS!
I wanted to post this ALOT earlier, but it was lost in the sea of folders I have.

Anyhoo, not my best storyboard project in the world, but this one definetely had a process.
That was, finding a story, creating character sketches, bringing them to thumbnails, storyboard, rejection, revisions, then animatic and happy grade!

Anyhoo, these two went through SO MANY DIFFERENT designs before I chose the final one. You can go through, literaly hundreds of designs and still there wont be anything.
For the character Iliad especially (the moon dude), these aren't even all his sketches, only a quarter. Jeethuths, figuring out what his face would look like was hard as hell!

I just wanted to show this for those of you out there who are thinking of going into the animation/concept art field. It's hard work, but you love doing it! ^w^

I noticed alot of great people are on this blog, so I decided... "HEY! Why not start a blog."
I've never really had one these, it looks FUN *w*
So my page will be mostly concept works (cause I love it so). Also a way I can get some more professional feed back! Joy!!!
